What an uncanny similarities between both. While we were busy cleaning our house for Diwali, they were also busy cleaning roads for elections. While we were preparing for parties, the parties were preparing for elections. We were remembering all our old friends & acquaintances, they also remembered their voters. We greeted each other and they greeted everyone on the street.
We were spending money, they also. We worshipped, they also.
We were working hard to win poker with jokers; they were trying to win booths with voters. We lighted up our houses again and burnt crackers; they lighted up their promises again and burnt conscious. We were buying gifts for each other, they tickets.
We were making rangoli designs; they were making campaign design.
We shopped like hell; they also.
