4pm Press Conference by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Today
Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman is to address a Press Conference at 4pm today as people await details of the special economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his nation-wide speech yesterday announced a new financial relief package of Rs 20 lakh crore as a stimulus for various sectors to revive the COVID-hit economy of the country, the details of which the Finance Minister would share with the citizens.
“India’s self-reliance will be based on five pillars – economy, infrastructure, technology driven system, vibrant demography and demand. The special economic package is to support our labourers, farmers, honest tax payers, MSMEs and industry,” said the Prime Minister who also stressed on the importance of ‘Make in India’ and the projection of more Indian products gorwing from ‘Local’ to ‘Global’ brands in times to come.
The sum of 20 lakh crore will also include the earlier financial relief declared by Sitharaman in March worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore and the monetary easing announced by the Reserve Bank of India.
