Independence Day Virtual Celebration by The Lotus Petal Foundation
With a sense of great pride and enthusiasm, Lotus Petal Foundation celebrated India’s 74th Independence Day with a virtual event attended by 100 individual donors, corporates & volunteers from India & overseas.
The traditional flag-hoisting ceremony was carried out by the Emeral Squad (ladies of housekeeping & kitchen staff) since they were instrumental in cooking & packing over 1.59 lakh meals during the lockdown under the Community Feeding Program
Free education to the underprivileged has been the main focus of the organization. Founder Kushal Raj Chakravorty promised of continued effort by Lotus Petal in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic towards nutrition, health and education and announced that the organization will be expanding it`s reach towards providing nutritional support to the underprivileged by launching the ZeroHunger Food Bank.
The children at Lotus Petal Foundation are enjoying uninterrupted learning through smart devices and the Lotus Petal Foundation has benefitted it`s 700+ underprivileged children living in the urban slums of Gurgaon.
The celebrations were concluded with a heartwarming rendition of the song ‘Hum Honge Kamyaab’.
