Bhakti Sangeet Festival from 22nd to 24th April 2022

Sahitya Kala Parishad and the Department of Art, Culture and Languages, Delhi Government, are all set to bring the spirit of devotional music to the capital with the Bhakti Sangeet Festival from 22nd to 24th April 2022 at Nehru Park Chanakya Puri-entry free.

The three-day festival celebrating the plurality of faith and expressions in devotional music will bring together nine renowned singers from different genres of devotional music. The Bhakti Sangeet festival will treat audiences with Bhajans to Sufiana Kalams and devotional music in its purest form.
 

Day 1
The first day of the festival will witness some great performances by Suranjan Khandalkar, a promising classical vocalist from Pune belonging to Patiala Gharana. Sufi and Ghazal singer -Indira Naik, a classical singer hailing from the Patiala Gharana and the renowned devotional singer Agnihotri Bandhu of Lucknow light up the devotional vibes.

Day 2

The second evening will see the soulful renditions of Dr Subhadra Desai, a classical vocalist and researcher- a scholar of ancient Indian music and a senior disciple of Padmashri Pandit Madhup Mudgal. The second Gayaki of the evening by Kalapini Komkali, a noted Hindustani classical vocalist and daughter of the legendary Kumar Gandharva. The evening will witness the magical voice of the famous and talented singer Daler Mehndi, displaying the lesser-known aspect of his music – devotional songs.

Day 3
 
On the third day of the festival is a musical performance by Dr Meeta Pandit, a Hindustani Classical vocalist and a leading exponent of the Gwalior Gharana. Not to be missed is a soul-stirring performance by an intellectual poet turned mystic singer – Dr Madan Gopal Singh. The evening culminates with famous artists Prashant and Nishant Malik’s performance.
