Lotus Petal Foundation focuses on hunger & academics in Lockdown.
The adage ‘Desperate situations call for desperate measures’ motivated the Lotus Petal Foundation to facilitate emergency measures to contain and overcome the COVID19 crisis; especially the need to provide wholesome & nutritious meals to the lesser privileged.
In its own humble yet steadfast way, the Foundation came to the rescue of the daily wage migrant workforce of Gurugram region. It converted its school kitchen into a process-driven commissary kitchen to cater to the enormous need of the unique Community Feed Programme to nourish thousands of homeless migrants and daily wage workers.
“We have been preparing above 2000 meals a day to feed the needy for the past month and shall continue until the Lockdown continues. We are eyeing to increase the number to 3,500 meals daily for which we are receiving support in the form of raw material, packaging materials and miscellaneous articles from our valuable donors, friends not only in India but living abroad also,” said Kushal Chakravorty, Founder and Managing Trustee, Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation, Gurgaon.
