Kalagram Awards-2023: Recognizing Art and Culture Excellence on Independence Day
Embracing the spirit of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, the esteemed Kalagram Sanstha is gearing up to bestow the second edition of the Kalagram Awards-2023 on the eve of Independence Day.
This eminent event stands as a tribute to the outstanding individuals who have illuminated the Gurugram district with their exceptional contributions to the domains of art and culture. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav and in collaboration with the district administration, Kalagram Sanstha is unwavering in its commitment to elevate and propagate the vibrant tapestry of art and culture.
A significant meeting held at the Media Center in the Mini Secretariat marked a pivotal moment in this journey, where esteemed jury members convened to evaluate the applications submitted for the prestigious Second Kalagram Awards-2023. This was the third round of screening. The jury comprised luminaries such as Shikha Gupta, senior artist & director of Kalagram; Vineeta Jerath Grover, Co-founder & Editor of SUBURB Magazine with over decades of experience in media &communications, Shilpa Sonal, former President of Spic Macay and founder of a reputed NGO in Gurgaon; renowned sculptor & artist Gopal Namjoshi; journalist Sharad Kohli; Lokesh Sharma, Head of the Music Department at Government College, Sector 14; Minakshi Pandey Assistant professor at Government College, and DIPRO Bijender Kumar, meticulously reviewed applications across various categories. In addition to the expertise and accomplishments in their respective fields, the award also underscores the individual’s contribution to promoting art, literature, and culture within Gurugram. Importantly, applications were open for submission until July 30th for the highly anticipated Kalagram Awards-2023 within the Gurugram district.
Shedding light on this initiative, Shikha Gupta unveiled a diverse array of categories, encompassing Indian classical dance, literature, vocal music, instrumental music, theatre, photography, youth inspiration, dedicated service to art and culture, visual arts, lifetime achievement, special needs, and creative art films as the focal points of the awards. The response has been overwhelming, with numerous individuals deeply rooted in Art and Culture showcasing their talents through their applications. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Gurgaon next week in the presence of dignitaries and esteemed guests.
