Triumphant Win for Team Haryana at 37th National Games Golf Event
Team Haryana, led by a remarkable line-up of seasoned professionals and rising stars, demonstrated outstanding skill and determination at the recently concluded 37th National Games Golf Event boasting a total of 192 medals.
The She Power
Comprising renowned professionals such as Diksha Dagar, Vani Kapoor, Gaurika Bishnoi, Rhea Jha, Tvesa Malik, Nishtha Madan, Abhinav Lohan, Karan Pratap Singh, Kartik Sharma, Kshitij Kaul and emerging amateurs like Heena Kang, Lavanya Jadon, Rohit Narwal, Tushar Pannu and Prarthana Khanna. Team Haryana secured victory and redefined excellence in Indian Golfing; despite challenges, including player withdrawals, the team showcased strength.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Nishtha Madan, Tvesa Malik and Diksha Dagar withdrew before the start of the tournament while Sunhit Bishnoi withdrew after the first round due to medical reasons.
Men’s Team
In the men’s team category, represented by Karan Pratap Singh and Tushar Pannu, Team Haryana secured the 8th position overall. Kartik Sharma secured a bronze medal in the Men’s individual event, and last year’s silver medallist, Abhinav Lohan, finished admirably in 5th place.
The leader board
In the women’s category, Vani Kapoor and Prarthana Khanna secured a silver medal in the women’s team event. Vani Kapoor continued her individual success with a bronze medal in the women’s individual event, while Gaurika Bishnoi finished in 5th place. Lavanya Jadon added a touch of brilliance with a hole-in-one on the 12th hole on the first day of the event, earning recognition from the National Games Committee.
Haryana emerged as the leader in golf, amassing the highest number of medals, outshining competitors like Karnataka and Punjab. Notably, Haryana secured the third position overall in the medal tally, boasting a total of 192 medals.
