The first annual convocation of XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Delhi- NCR
The annual convocation of 71 students, the first batch of Business Management 2022 XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Delhi- NCR, was held on May 16.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited sponsored gold medals for academic excellence, academic excellence for women and all-rounders. Piyush Jhawar, Shreyashi Chakraborty & Devansh Tripathy received gold medals and awards of merit.
R.C. Bhargava, chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, was awarded Fr. E. Abraham Medal for Industrial and Management Development. Mr Bhargava said, “India has come a long way and still has a long way to go. He called upon students to participate in the growth of the manufacturing industry. He insisted on the value of time.
Mr T. V. Narendran, MD & CEO of Tata Steel, the Chairman of Governing Body of XLRI, said that XLRI was the oldest business school in India and the passing out batch is the torchbearers for the institute. He said that “Brand India is moving towards digitisation. The world is changing, and India has an economy to create a great future. There is a shift. Students inspire to become job creators than just being job seekers. Be ready for failures. How one deals with successes and failures shapes up the future.”
Fr. Paul Fernandes, Vice Chairman, addressing the convocation, expressed joy on the overall performance by their first batch of the institute and gave them the message to be a good neighbour and add value to humanity. Fr. George Sebastian, Director, XLRI Delhi- NCR, presented the report and informed that 100 per cent placement has happened for their very first batch, and it has put the institute among the top ten institutes in the country in terms of placement. Prof. Rajkumar administered the pledge to all the passing graduates. The convocation concluded with National Anthem.
