Under its Health division, FII proposed to adopt PHC of Kasan village and community centre of Kukdola to extend medical services by supporting actively in running these set ups and gradually spread the reach to nearby villages, preparing for the expected yet another wave of Covid.

Dr Yash Garg who comes from a medical background, was quick to make suggestions on areas of health that needed attention. He laid stress on the need of nutrition of women especially the expecting and lactating mothers, cases of thalassaemia and need of blood banks, lack of availability of facilitates for dialysis and early detection of breast cancer among women.

Without mincing words, Yash Garg said, “I believe that prevention impacts the greater number of people than cure. By creating awareness in people, we can to some extent reduce their vulnerability towards some diseases.’’ He supported the idea of a Public-Private partnership to bring about better facilities to the villages and the poor in the district.

Seconding his thought was Mr Jain, “Unfortunately if a serious disease sets in, for those who cannot afford the treatment, can take away their financial assets along with their other strengths.’’

Mr Jain, being a philanthropist and someone who has gone through the tough experience of losing his mother to cancer, proposes to start a cancer detection centre and a Cath lab at the proposed sites.

Mr Harbhajan Singh said, “I believe in taking small steps one at a time and making it big. I assure you that our experienced & passionate team will make a visible difference in the areas where it gets involved to strengthen the hands of the district administration.

The meeting concluded on a very positive note as the delegation agreed to meet the DC again with the entire road map of activities to undertake in next year.
